Meet Dr. Bill
Dr. William Emerick Waters was the first dentist in the Waters family and started Riveredge dentistry 30 years ago . Patients usually call him Dr. Bill. He lives with his wife, Ann in West Park with their youngest son Albert and two dogs. Their three older kids include David, in dental school now; Monica who works the front desk at Riveredge; and Grace who has just had Dr. Bill's first grandchild!
Dr. Bill went to St. Edwards High School where he was active in Eagle Scouts and the band. After graduating and going to Baldwin Wallace College, he studied chemistry and played on the school's soccer team. He also kept busy by working on the school's newspaper. His father helped him realize that his talents included a science aptitude and taking good care of people may be useful in the field of dentistry. Dr. Bill attended dental school at the Ohio State University.
After working as an associate for a couple of years, he bought a small practice within the old Medic. Riveredge Dentistry was born and The Edge Plan was invented. Along with Kim and Diane, and later Dr. Mike they began our family of dental offices. As they grew, they moved to the current location and have been giving patients gentle, affordable, and caring dentistry ever since.
Dr. Bill keeps busy thanks to his family! He organizes family wide soccer games that includes his ten brothers and sisters and 50 nieces and nephews! He bikes and swims with his son Albert and has coached soccer for all his children. He also acted as den leader in boy scouts and started a local, coed Sea Scouts troop. He is a great cook and gardens too. He is a parishioner at OLA and St. Clements churches.
A newer member of the Riveredge team, Lia has been practicing hygiene for eight years in the Cleveland area. Lia brings with her an impeccable attention to detail when it comes to patient care. She will also consult with patients in need of proactive treatment with periodontal (gum) specialists and for oral hygiene at home. Her commitment to the practice extends beyond patient care. This includes adding several new insurance carriers and products that will benefit patients for years to come, including office and home whitening! She has also orchestrated educational lessons for schools and daycares, manned tents with Dr. Halle during 5Ks and festivals, and marches in the Fourth of July parade with the office group. She is the girl scout leader for her daughter's troop and likes to keep busy!
Diane is a certified dental assistant and has been with Riveredge since its founding. Her commitment to the practice is a further testament to the quality care and environment provided not only to patients, but the dental team at the office.
She grew up on the west side of Cleveland and was a girl scout for 12 years. She graduated from John Marshall High School. Diane loves animals and the environment and has volunteered at the Rocky River Nature Center for many years. She enjoys traveling, camping, and gardening, and going to Amish country.
Kathy is lifelong West Park resident, Kathleen has been with Riveredge Dentistry for over twelve years as a Certified Dental Assistant and Office Manager. Prior to working for Dr. Waters, Kathleen was a patient of Riveredge Dentistry. She and her husband have four children together and have been married for thirtyeight years. When asked what she enjoys most about working at Riveredge, she said, “I love all of our patients and have especially loved watching the children we care for grow up and bring their children!” Kathy is an animal lover and supports many different causes to help them. She is also interested in studying different religions, meeting new people, and is an avid garage saler!
Kim is a certified dental assistant and has been with Riveredge for over twenty years. She loves visiting with the patients and is a great hand holder. Patients feel comfortable with her because she has an impressive memory and knows them well. Kim lives in Lakewood with her husband and her daughter and their many pets! You may see her out and about because she loves trying new restaurants and volunteers at the APL. She also loves coffee and enjoys seeing movies (especially horror!). Kim also visits Amish Country regularly.
Monica is dental assistant, but more typically works the front desk helping patients with appointments, insurance, and billing. She began working at Riveredge two years ago when Mary retired. She is Dr. Bill's daughter and has been familiar with the dental office all her life. She also likes to keep busy, as she also works at Great Clips as a licensed cosmotologist. Monica enjoys spending time with her siblings playing games and baking. She also enjoys fitness, playing soccer, and concerts.
